Information for Prospective StudentsOur department welcomes inquiries from prospective students. We offer a variety of programs and interest areas, and degrees at every level (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Computer Science, plus the Master of Software Engineering offered through the College), plus graduate certificates in Software Engineering and Computer Security, and postbaccalaureate (PostBac) degrees (this is a second Bachelor's degree for those who already have a Bachelor's degree, usually in a field other than Computer Science). To find information about the programs you are interested in, use the links above to your area of interest. Prospective undergraduate students will find links to application forms and information on applying on the Undergraduate Programs page. Information for students interested in the PostBac program is also located there. Please note that prospective undergraduate and PostBac students must apply to the University; forms and additional information are on the admissions section of the main University site. The departmental application for undergraduates is done by admitted students who are ready to enter the junior year and have fulfilled all the lower-division (Freshman and Sophomore) CS requirements; it does not need to be completed by students who are applying for admission to the University. There is a link to information on graduate admissions on the Graduate Programs page. Prospective graduate students must apply to both the University and the Department. There is also a form to apply for a teaching assistantship. Incoming graduate students may apply for this position; prospective Ph.D. students are encouraged to do so. You can call the office at 503 725-4036 for more information, or email us at cmps at cs.pdx.edu. Prospective graduate students should email to the graduate coordinator (gc at cs.pdx.edu). |
