A Participatory Wireless Sensor network (PWSN) can be viewed as a peer-to-peer network where users contribute sensing data that is to be shared between them. An issue that is central to both types of networks is that there must be an inccentive or the users to share otherwise, it is well known from the "Tragedy of the Commons" that most users will tend to be free-riders rather than contributing resources to promote the total welfare of the users. This project will look at a number of different approaches to promote sharing of sensor data, so that a participatory WSN obtains a spatio-temporal profile that meets the quality of information requirements of an application using the minimum amount of resources possible.
