Hello! I was a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at Portland State University, Portland, Oregon. Before that, I did a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (hons.) from University of Roorkee (now known as IIT Roorkee), Roorkee, India. After my undergraduation I joined Automation Division of Siemens Ltd., New Delhi.
My advisor was Dr. Suresh Singh. I worked with him as a Research Assistant. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is "Applying cross-layer techniques to the design of Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols for emerging wireless networks". We apply cross-layer techniques to develop MAC protocols for heterogeneous wireless networks such as 802.11 Smart-antenna equipped nodes and low-power sensors. We evaluate the performance of these MAC protocols using testbed experiments, simulation, and analytical methods. In the past, I have worked on a project called Power Aware Computing & Communication for Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Network, (PACMAN), it was a joint project between PSU and USC. I have implemented SACK and Ad-Hoc TCP (ATCP) in FreeBSD-4.3. I have research interests in TCP/IP based networking, wireless mobile computing and security.
